In a head-turning start thus far, 18-year-old Ty Gibbs, grandson of Joe Gibbs, won his first career stage in the Super Start Batteries 188.

Gibbs took the lead from teammates Harrison Burton early in Stage 2, and never looked back as his teammate kept him close, but then began to fade into the rearview mirror of Gibbs.

Shortly after the Stage 2 finish, Gibbs radioed to his team that he wanted peanut butter crackers, much to the laughter of the broadcast crew.

Gibbs made a start at the Daytona road course last season in the ARCA Menards Series, bringing his Monster Energy Camry home in second place.

Austin Cindric won Stage 1 following a wild finish after AJ Allmendinger threw a block entering the tri-oval. Riley Herbst was dove to the grass to avoid Allmendinger, but suffered front end damage, thus ending his day.
