When Ross Chastain’s No. 42 Camaro hits the track on Sunday in Daytona, fans will see the familiar red and yellow color palette of an American icon.

McDonald’s, the world-wide fast-food chain, will return to Chip Ganassi Racing in 2021, sponsoring Chastain in multiple races in his debut season with CGR.

The new paint scheme design chooses simplicity with the iconic McDonald’s red as the primary color with accents of the Golden Arches the burger chain is known for.

Chastain even tried his hand at designing the 2021 scheme which… didn’t go over too well.

The fast-food giant joined Chip Ganassi Racing in 2010, starting their season off with nine races with Jamie McMurray. Since then, the company has been featured on the car in every season. In 2019, McDonald’s joined Bubba Wallace and Richard Petty Motorsports as a team sponsor.

McDonald’s had roughly a dozen races in 2020 as a primary sponsor on the No. 42 Camaro ZL1 1LE. The company is pulling double duty in 2021, as they’ll continue to back Bubba in the inaugural season at 23XI as a primary sponsor.

The news comes as Chastain went viral over the weekend during the Daytona 500 rain delay when he stopped by a local McDonald’s in Daytona wearing his fire suit.

According to SBJ’s Adam Stern, the video netted McDonald’s about $52,000 in social media value thanks to the video.

Fans can see the McDonald’s Camaro for the first time in 2021 this weekend in Daytona for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 253. Coverage begins at 3 PM EST on FOX and the FOX Sports app.
