RSS Racing will field a newly renumbered No. 23 team in a partnership with Reaume Brothers Racing for the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. If you recall, in 2020, RSS Racing and Reaume Brothers Racing formed a partnership where RSS fielded the No. 93 team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, while Reaume Brothers Racing was in charge of preparing the car each week and managing the resources to get the car ready.
This marks the continuation of that partnership for 2021.
According to a press release from Reaume Brothers Racing, the No. 23 machine will include a fleet of former RSS Racing chassis, which were instrumental in carrying Ryan Sieg to a NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoff Berth this past season.
The No. 23 team, which will have their cars prepared in the new Reaume Brothers Racing shop in Mooresville, NC, will run the full 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.
“The Xfinity Series is quite healthy and we are privileged to be a part of the series once again this season,” Josh Reaume said in the release. “With no single full-time driver, we will have plenty of opportunities to help develop drivers coming through the NASCAR ranks. Being a steppingstone for a driver and their career is something that I take a lot of pride in. We’re excited to work with familiar faces and new faces this year in 2021.”
Despite the No. 39 RSS Racing team switching to Ford for 2021, there have been no official manufacturer alignment announcements for the No. 23 team nor have any drivers, sponsors or a crew chief been revealed, just yet. However, the release states that the No. 23 car still has races open for drivers and that they are talking to a handful of drivers on filling those races.
The team expects to have more announcements in place over the next few weeks.
Earlier this week, RSS Racing announced the finalized sale of their 2020 owner points, from their No. 93 team, to the new Big Machine Racing team for 2021. This led to speculation by many that RSS Racing may only run the No. 39 car in 2021.
The No. 93 RSS Racing team scored three top-10 finishes a season ago with a rotating cast of drivers in the seat. Myatt Snider made a total of 25 starts in the No. 93, and he racked up all three top-10 efforts.
This partnership will not change the Reaume Brothers Racing team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for 2021. The team will still field two teams for the full slate of Truck Series events.
