In a rather shocking wrench thrown into the 2020 Silly Season saga, Go Fas Racing will be moving to a part-time operation beginning in 2021.

The news was confirmed in a press release Thursday evening.

“It has been a lot of fun over the years but with the evolution of life, your priorities change,” Team owner Archie St. Hilarie said. “With my son [and GM of Go Fas] Mason moving on to start his own business in a different industry and myself getting ready to spend time with my daughter having my first grandchild, I feel it’s time to reevaluate the next chapter of my life. It definitely has been great working with Ford and all of our great marketing partners over the last 10 years and we look forward to continuing with them on a smaller scale going forward. I cant say enough about how NASCAR has built and maintained their business model during the current pandemic and how exciting the schedule looks for 2021! We will keep 4-5 cars and anticipate running 5-6 races in 2021 at tracks we enjoy and make financial sense.”

In addition, Hilarie  also talked about the future of the charter for the team.

“Joe Falk of Circle Sport will continue to own half of the charter we currently run and we will be transferring our ownership in our half of the charter at the end of the season to Joe’s new parter, who will be announced in the coming days, Hilarie said. “We will continue our partnership with the Wood Brothers Racing team on our other charter moving forward into the future. We look forward after the remaining full-time teams announce their 2021 driver line-ups!”

As for who will be involved as the new partners, a source close to TobyChristie.com has stated that Matt Tifft and BJ McLeod are involved in working with Falk and acquiring the charter. The news confirming Tifft and McLeod’s involvement in the deal is expected to be confirmed soon.

Go Fas Racing has been involved in NASCAR Cup Series competition for nearly a decade. The team itself was a merger between Go Green Racing and Fas Lane Racing in 2014. The new team combined both names and created “Go Fas Racing”.

The team has had full-time operations since 2014, competing in nearly 250 races since the merger. During the full-time efforts, the team has scored only 27 top-20 finishes, with a majority of them coming from drivers such at Matt DiBenedetto and Corey LaJoie.

A driver has not been confirmed for the No. 32 for 2021. LaJoie, their current driver, is still testing the waters in both the Cup Series, and the Xfinity Series. LaJoie is expected to bring sponsorship with him wherever he may land.
