Team Penske joins Stewart-Haas Racing as NASCAR Cup Series teams that have had team members contract COVID-19. The team issued a statement on Saturday.

In the statement, Team Penske states that their unnamed employee has been in quarantine since being diagnosed, as well as other employees who came in contact with the infected team member.

Here is the full statement from Team Penske:

”Earlier this week, Team Penske has one of its team members report positive for COVID-19. This employee has been in quarantine all week and has recovered without any symptoms. Due to the team’s stringent protocols, only a few of our personnel had reason to quarantine and none of those individuals are experiencing any symptoms. The identities of those impacted, along with additional details, will not be released due to privacy concerns.”

On Friday, Stewart-Haas Racing announced that two unnamed members of their non-road crew had tested positive for COVID-19.

During the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2021 selection festivities, Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett revealed that he has contracted COVID-19, but was suffering from only mild symptoms.
