Chase Purdy will run a five-race schedule in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series for GMS Racing in the No. 24 Chevrolet Silverado, the team announced via a press release on Tuesday.

Purdy, a 20-year old NASCAR Next Almuni, will run at Pocono Raceway, Kentucky Speedway, both Kansas Speedway races and Talladega Superspeedway.

The Alabama native ran two Truck Series events back in 2018, but knows he’ll need to shake off the rust.

“I know I’m definitely going to need to get acclimated again. I think I’m a bit out of practice with everything that goes into a full race weekend, especially in the truck series,” said Purdy. “My main goal is to refresh everything, watch a lot of film and stay in touch with my teammates leading up to the races.”

Purdy went on to say that his goal is to finish top-10.

Sponsorship for the effort will come from Bama Buggies.
