The CARS Tour announced on Tuesday evening that its Appeals Panel voted to amend the penalty levied against the No. 77 Chad Bryant Racing team for an unapproved part following the series’ event at North Wilkesboro Speedway on August 3.

Following the appeal by Chad Bryant Racing, Lapcevich has been reinstated as the winner of the zMAX CARS Tour’s Window World 125 at North Wilkesboro. However, he and his team will not receive the points or prize money for the win.

“We understand and accept the decision made this afternoon by the Appeals board,” said CARS Tour Executive Director Kip Childress. “We appreciate the time and effort given by the board to hear this appeal and we understand that there is a need on our part to continue to work on our processes and procedures as we grow as a sanctioning body.”

Lapcevich initially won the August 3 Late Model Stock event, but the win was later credited to Corey Heim due to the unapproved part.
