Shane van Gisbergen, Australian Supercars legend, was runner-up in the session in the No. 97 Kaulig Racing entry. SVG was 0.079 sec. off the fast pace set by Mayer.
Sheldon Creed, AJ Allmendinger, and Josh Bilicki rounded out the top-five fastest in the practice session.
