The NASCAR Cup Series drivers and teams took to the 2.42-mile Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course on Friday afternoon for practice ahead of Sunday’s Viva Mexico 250.
Michael McDowell led the way in opening practice with a 94.024-second (92.657 mph) lap. Chase Briscoe, who is looking for his fourth consecutive pole position, ranked second in the session as he clocked in 0.112 seconds behind McDowell.
