NASCAR Truck Series Love’s RV Stop 225 at Talladega Starting Lineup

How about that for a surprise? Gio Ruggiero, driver of the No. 17 First Auto Group Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage, will lead the field to green in Friday’s Love’s RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway.

With a lap time of 54.292 seconds, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rookie beat defending series champion Ty Majeski and dominant teammate Corey Heim in Friday’s two-round, single-vehicle qualifying session from the 2.66-mile superspeedway.

Majeski, as previously mentioned, will start in second, with Corey Heim in third.

Matt Crafton, making what could potentially be his final start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Talladega Superspeedway, will start in fourth place, his second top-five starting spot of the 2025 season in the No. 88 Menards Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing.

Kaden Honeycutt rounded out the top five, driving the No. 52 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for Halmar Friesen Racing. ThorSport Racing teammates Luke Fenhaus and Ben Rhodes were sixth and seventh quickest in the second round of qualifying, with Tyler Anlkrum in eighth.

Returning to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage, Bret Holmes, a native of Munford, Alabama, picked up his third career top-10 start, qualifying ninth. Tanner Gray rounded out the top-10, the slowest of the four entries from TRICON Garage that advanced to the second round of qualifying.

Of the eight remaining playoff-eligible drivers, only four will start inside the top-10. The other five were not quick enough to advance to the second (and final) round of qualifying. Rajah Caruth (11th), Grant Enfinger (15th), Daniel Hemric (17th), and Layne Riggs (35th) all failed to advance.

Layne Riggs, driving the No. 34 Love’s RV Stop Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports, will start from the rear of the field in Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Talladega Superspeedway after NASCAR determined Front Row Motorsports made an unapproved adjustment prior to qualifying.

Riggs will have to start at the rear of the field for Friday’s event at the 2.66-mile superspeedway, after not posting a qualifying lap, and will lose pit selection for next weekend’s elimination race at Martinsville Speedway.

Caleb Costner, driving the No. 74 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for Mike Harmon Racing, also failed to post a lap in Friday’s single-vehicle qualifying session from Talladega and will roll from 36th.

The Love’s RV Stops 225 at Talladega will take place on Friday, October 17, at 4:00 PM ET on FOX.
