Nick Leitz saw his race end early after contact from Carson Hocevar on lap 215 of Saturday’s NASCAR Truck Series race at Richmond.

It took 215 laps, but we finally got our first on-track incident of Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Worldwide Express 250 at Richmond Raceway.

Carson Hocevar was battling with the race leader, Chandler Smith, to stay on the lead lap. In the midst of the battle, Hocevar and Smith came up on Nick Leitz, who was driving several laps down in the No. 33 Reaume Brothers Racing entry.

Hocevar caught Leitz heading into turns 1 and 2, and made contact with Leitz. The contact sent Leitz backing hard into the outside wall.

Here is video of the incident between Hocevar and Leitz:

While Hocevar was passed by Smith before the caution lights were illuminated, NASCAR ruled that Hocevar was ahead of Smith at the time of caution, which kept Hocevar on the lead lap. Meanwhile, Leitz climbed from his battered truck and was done for the evening.
