Video: John Hunter Nemechek Nearly Pelted With Beer Can From Stands After Win

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Darlington Race Winner John Hunter Nemechek was nearly nailed by this beer can from the stands after the race.

It was nearly a short-lived victory for John Hunter Nemechek on Friday night in the Dead on Tools 200 at Darlington Raceway, as during his victory interview on the front stretch, a fan from the stands nearly pegged him with a beer can.

The driver of the No. 4 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota Tundra appeared shocked once he realized what had happened in the FS1 video interview.

Here is the wild moment as it happened live:

While FOX and television partners seem hell bent on conducting interviews from the front stretch rather than the traditional victory lane, the front stretch interviews have led to some less than stellar moments on television.

Of course, it was the on track post-race interview that led to the Let’s Go Brandon phrase being coined. Now, on Friday night, the race winner was nearly pelted with a full can of beer. Could you imagine if it connected?

Perhaps, it’s time to move on from these interviews and head back to victory lane again.
