Swift Transportation, a Phoenix-based trucking company, has inked a multi-race agreement with Blaine Perkins and SS Greenlight Racing, to serve as primary sponsor of the No. 07 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

The newfound partnership was officially announced on Thursday, with a car unveiling ceremony and press event at Swift Transportation’s corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.

Perkins, who is three races into his first full-season campaign in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, will carry the blue and gold colors of Swift Transportation in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Phoenix Raceway, as well as multiple others, which were not part of the announcement.

“We are excited to use this partnership to promote our rewarding career opportunities for shop technicians who share our passion for innovation and excellence. Together with Blaine Perkins and SS GreenLight, we look forward to a winning season,” said Kenneth McBee, SVP of Swift Transportation.

Swift offers customers a myriad of services within the transportation sector including linehaul, dedicated, refrigerated, flatbed, heavy haul, intermodal, and freight warehousing.

“I’m excited to begin our partnership with SWIFT Transportation this coming week, beginning with the unveiling of the car today at their corporate office in Phoenix,” said Blaine Perkins. “I am really looking forward to debuting the SWIFT Transportation Chevy on the racetrack Saturday, and start to build on this partnership as the season continues”

Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings, Inc., the parent company of Swift, is the largest and most diversified freight transportation organization, providing multiple truckload transportation and logistics services, as well as LTL services.

“It’s no secret that the trucking industry is a large portion of how this sport moves on a weekly basis,” added SS GreenLight team owner Bobby Dotter, “so to have a nationally known carrier such as SWIFT Transportation join Blaine and the 07 teams is a big moment for our entire organization.”

The beginning of the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign has been difficult for both Perkins and SS Greenlight Racing, starting the year with three finishes outside the top-30, with a season-high result of 31st at Auto Club.

At the conclusion of last year, Perkins scored his first-ever top-10 finish in NASCAR’s top-three series, piloting the No. 02 Chevrolet Camaro for Our Motorsports to a 10th-place finish at Martinsville Speedway.

In 16 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, Perkins has scored a total of five top-20 finishes, while also securing a stage victory at Talladega in October of 2021.

Phoenix Raceway marks the site of Perkins’ debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, which came driving for Our Motorsports in 2021. The Bakersfield, California-native would go on to finish 24th.
