Ross Chastain, a full-time driver for Trackhouse Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series, will join an extensive list of drivers looking to gain additional experience ahead of Sunday’s event at Circuit of The Americas.

Chastain, 29, will join forces with DGM Racing for Saturday’s 3.41-mile road course, driving the organization’s No. 92 Chevrolet Camaro, an entry that has been occupied by Kyle Weatherman throughout the first five events of the year.

“I love to race, I love to compete,” Chastain said in a team release. “When Mario [Gosselin] called and offered me an opportunity to drive his No. 92 Chevrolet, it was without hesitation, absolutely yes.”

The Alva, Florida-native enters the weekend on a streak of three consecutive top-three results in the NASCAR Cup Series, already matching his top-five total from last season, after five races this season.

“We’ve had three solid races in a row on the Cup side with Trackhouse Racing. COTA is a challenging track, and the more seat time I can get before hopping in the No. 1 Trackhouse Chevrolet on Sunday, the better. I can’t thank Justin [Marks] and Ty [Norris] enough for allowing me to be true to myself and race whenever the opportunity presents itself.”

Chastain will look to summon his wealth of experience in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in order to secure another good result for DGM Racing, after the team placed two entries inside the top-10 at Atlanta.

“I’ve always had a lot of respect for what the DGM Racing group does week-in and week-out and it’ll be fun going to battle with them Saturday at COTA,” continued Chastain.

Last season, in a substitute role, Chastain earned a front-row starting position for SS Green Light Racing, before a mechanical issue on the opening lap of the event, sent the 29-year-old to the garage for a significant portion of the event.

“Ross is a very talented race, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him,” said DGM Racing owner, Mario Gosselin. “Ross’ recent accomplishments in the Cup Series are truly impressive. We’re humbled and extremely thankful to have him in the No. 92 this weekend.”

TicketSmarter, a primary sponsor of David Starr and SS Green Light Racing in multiple events this season, will join Chastain on-track at Circuit of The Americas, as the Cup Series driver joins Preston Pardus and Alex Labbé in DGM Racing’s three-car lineup for this weekend.
