Nick Sanchez, who was scheduled to compete in a total of seven NASCAR Xfinity Series races for BJ McLeod Motorsports in 2022, has parted ways with the team after just two starts. On Tuesday, Sanchez released a statement on Twitter announcing that he had left BJMM.

The statement from Sanchez read, “At this time, I would like to announce that I will not be competing in my remaining scheduled Xfinity races with BJ McLeod Motorsports this season. I’d like to thank BJ & Jessica McLeod, along with the entire team, for the opportunity to compete with them. I’ve enjoyed working with each and every one of you.

“I’ve been presented an opportunity that both supports and aligns with my plan for growth and advancement. It is not something I can pass up on and can’t wait to share this news soon.”

Sanchez, who has scored two wins in the ARCA Menards Series this season and sits second in the AMS point standings after nine races, finished 26th in his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut for BJMM back in the spring. Sanchez then competed admirably at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, but settled for a 28th-place run after an ignition failure ended his day.

The races that were on the remainder of Sanchez’s schedule were: Pocono, Michigan, Bristol, Kansas and Homestead.

While it is unknown what opportunity Sanchez has been offered, this is a very similar situation to a Stefan Parsons announcement earlier this season.

Parsons had signed on with BJMM for the full 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, but in April, Parsons announced he was parting ways with BJMM to join Alpha Prime Racing for the remainder of the 2022 season.
