Jordan Anderson, a race-winning owner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, will return to the driver’s seat of a NASCAR National Series vehicle later this month, confirming his intentions to compete in the Xfinity Series event at Daytona International Speedway.

The 32-year-old will pilot a third entry for Jordan Anderson Racing in the event at the 2.5-mile superspeedway, marking his first time back in a racecar since a scary accident at Talladega Superspeedway in October 2022.

Anderson’s father-in-law, 23-time NASCAR Cup Series winning crew chief Larry McReynolds, will return to the pit box for his second-ever event as a crew chief in the second-tier series.

The 64-year-old former crew chief, now a media personality for FOX Sports and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, returned to the pit box last season when Jeffrey Earnhardt competed in a one-off for Richard Childress Racing, driving the No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro.

For Anderson, the August 25 event at Daytona International Speedway will mark his 19th start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, with the Forest Acres, South Carolina native having a career-best of fifth-place at Talladega Superspeedway in 2021.

The site of his best finish is also the site of the organization’s best finish after Jeb Burton brought the No. 27 Chevrolet Camaro home to the victory at Talladega Superspeedway earlier this year, the first victory for the organization in its third season.

Of note, Anderson has always seemingly had a knack for Daytona International Speedway, finishing in the runner-up position in back-to-back seasons in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2020 and 2021, when he was an owner-driver.

As far as the extra entry for Jordan Anderson Racing at Daytona is concerned, no car number or sponsorship has been announced for the effort, as of yet. However, Anderson will become a third drafting partner for full-time Xfinity Series drivers Parker Retzlaff and Jeb Burton, en route to hopefully scoring the team’s second victory.
