After eight seasons away, Richmond, Virginia native Jason White will get back behind the wheel of an entry in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, competing in the season-opening NextEra 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

White, who competed full-time in the NASCAR Truck Series from 2008 to 2012, will pilot the No. 1 Celsius Essential Energy Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, a fifth entry for the newly-rebranded TRICON Garage.

The announcement of White’s return to the series completed TRICON Garage’s five-truck lineup for the season-opening event at Daytona, with the tenured competitor joining Dean Thompson, Corey Heim, Tanner Gray, and Sammy Smith.

Over the course of his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series career, spanning more than a decade, White was able to record nine top-five and 21 top-10 finishes, including a career-best runner-up finish at Michigan in 2012.

In nine NASCAR Truck Series starts at Daytona, White has recorded a pair of top-five results, while piloting the No. 23 GunBroker.com entry.

Two seasons ago, White made his return to competition in NASCAR’s top-three divisions, contesting four NASCAR Xfinity Series events, all on a superspeedway, for RSS Racing and MBM Motorsports. White would score his second career top-10 in the series at Daytona.

Celsius Essential Energy has exploded onto the scene when it comes to NASCAR National Series sponsorship, having announced primary sponsorship for Kaulig Racing, Live Fast Motorsports, and Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The company is also set to serve as a two-race primary sponsor of the No. 63 Chevrolet SS in the ARCA Menards Series, for driver Logan Misuraca.

With the organization’s expansion to four full-time, and one part-time entry, the owner points situation is unclear, as far as TRICON Garage is concerned, but should be released by NASCAR in the coming days.
