After making the switch from Toyota to Chevrolet over the off-season, Kyle Busch Motorsports is looking to keep things fairly low-key, as far as making any major changes to its NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series program in 2024.
Speaking to members of the media on Saturday at Michigan International Speedway, Kyle Busch, owner of Kyle Busch Motorsports, confirmed that the organization will not be undergoing any major changes to its driver lineup for next season.
Chase Purdy, who joined Kyle Busch Motorsports to pilot the No. 4 Chevrolet Silverado on a multi-year agreement, has had a career season in 2023, scoring a pair of top-five results at Texas and Gateway, as well as seven top-10 finishes.
After missing the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs, the Meridian, Mississippi-native currently sits 13th in points, which, barring a major fall-off in the final seven events of the year, would be a career-best for the 23-year-old driver.
By virtue of qualifying for the NASCAR Truck Series Playoffs, 2022 ARCA Menards Series champion Nick Sanchez has clinched Rookie of The Year honors in the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado for Rev Racing – which has a technical alliance with Kyle Busch Motorsports.
Sanchez, who is widely considered to be one of Chevrolet’s strongest prospects, is set to return to the Kyle Busch Motorsports network in 2023, likely with Rev Racing for a second consecutive season.
“We have my part-time races, my five races next year, and we have the rest of the truck still open for next year, and figure out what we are going to do from that respect,” said Busch. “But, [Chase] Purdy will be back, and [Nick] Sanchez will be back, so we are pretty good with where we are at.”
Busch, the winningest driver in the history of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, will also be returning for his yearly stint of five events in 2024, piloting the organization’s second full-time entry, which will be split between multiple drivers.
This season, third-year NASCAR Truck Series driver Jack Wood has anchored the No. 51 Chevrolet Silverado. Other drivers, including Matt Mills, William Byron, and Kyle Busch have also taken turns aboard the entry, which scored the team’s 100th victory at Pocono Raceway.
