Ben Rhodes will have a brand-new sponsor on board his entry in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-opener at Daytona International Speedway, ThorSport Racing announced on Monday.
Rhodes, who captured the 2021 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship for ThorSport Racing, will pilot the No. 99 Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Ford F-150 in the season-opening contest.
The company was the highest bidder on the ThorSport Racing prize package through The Run For A Million, Raise A Million live auction benefitting Reining Horse Foundation.
In 1976, John W. Clark established Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Inc., with one convenience store in his hometown of Westwood, Kentucky. In the 1990s, Clark’s three sons, Rick, Rodney, and Brent, acquired the convenience store chain, which expanded to 18 locations in the Tri-State Area – Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia – as well as Florida.
Now, Clark’s Pump-N-Shop operates 67 convenience stores with its home offices located in Ashland, Kentucky. The company takes great pride in supporting the stores’ surrounding communities by providing jobs for more than 700 people in four states.
“Brent and I look forward to seeing the No. 99 Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Ford truck on the track at Daytona with fellow Kentuckian, Ben Rhodes, behind the wheel,” said Rick Clark, owner of Clark’s Pump-N-Shop.
Rhodes has spent the last seven seasons as a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, in which time he’s collected six victories, 49 top-five, and 89 top-10 finishes. The Louisville, Kentucky-native has finished top two in points in back-to-back seasons.
ThorSport Racing, the organization that Rhodes has spent his career with, has transitioned back to the Ford Performance family for the 2023 season, after returning to Toyota Racing Development for the last couple of seasons.
Clark’s Pump-N-Shop will join Kubota – a six-race sponsor of Rhodes’ No. 99 Ford F-150 – as the two companies to announce primary sponsorship for the 2021 NASCAR Truck Series champion’s entry.
