Bayley Currey will head to Talladega Superspeedway this weekend looking like he’s ready to hit the beach. The 25-year old driver will have a new primary sponsor on his No. 4 JD Motorsports Chevrolet in Habana Brisa.

Habana Brisa is a line of reef friendly sun care products created by Ron Rice, who developed the Hawaiian Tropic sun care products. Rice utilized NASCAR as a marketing platform for Hawaiian Tropic back in the 1970’s, so this avenue for Habana Brisa simply makes sense.

“Returning to racing with Habana Brisa was an easy decision, as I have always had a special place in my heart for NASCAR,” Rice said in a team release. “Having had a long history with NASCAR, we could not think of a better team to partner with for Habana Brisa.”

JD Motorsports team owner Johnny Davis loves the partnership and feels the paint scheme could become an iconic one.

“You look back over NASCAR history, and those Hawaiian Tropic cars really stand out,” Davis said. “The Habana Brisa paint scheme will be just as memorable. The car will really ‘shout’ at you from the race track. And our guys in the pits will be wearing the ultimate in sun protection in Habana Brisa.”

An additional nugget in the press release from JD Motorsports states that former NASCAR team owner Frank Cicci will join the JD Motorsports team with a marketing alliance.

Currey, the Texas-native, sits 25th in the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship standings after eight races this season. The No. 4 team has had really good speed this year and have clicked off four top-20 runs and had a couple of other solid runs in their sights until mechanical gremlins appeared.

The young driver and his No. 4 team will look to score their first top-10 finish of the season this weekend in the Ag-Pro 300 at Talladega.
