NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular Rajah Caruth will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series next weekend at Kansas Speedway, partnering with powerhouse organization Hendrick Motorsports.
Caruth, a native of Washington, D.C., will drive the No. 17 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet in the Kansas Lottery 300, which will mark his second start in the second-tier series with the championship-winning organization.
The 23-year-old driver is currently in his third full-time campaign in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, where he drives the No. 71 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Silverado RST for Spire Motorsports.
In 70 career starts in the NASCAR Truck Series, Caruth has picked up a pair of victories (at Las Vegas in March 2024 and Nashville in June 2025), eight top-five finishes, and 25 results inside the top-10. Last season, Caruth finished a career-best seventh in series point standings.
“I feel extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity, and for me, I think about how much I’ve grown since the last time I was fortunate enough to drive a race car out of this building,” Caruth said. “I believe my experience I’ve accumulated the last few years in the [CRAFTSMAN] Truck Series, and my partial Xfinity stuff will put me right where I need to be to run up front and hopefully have a good race.”
Caruth made his only prior appearance with the Hendrick Motorsports NASCAR Xfinity Series program in November 2023 at Phoenix Raceway. After an adventurous race, the No. 17 Chevrolet came home a solid 14th with Caruth in the driver’s seat.
HendrickCars.com, the successful North Carolina-based car dealership owned by Rick Hendrick (owner of the Hendrick Motorsports empire), has been a long-time supporter of Caruth in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and for the second straight year, has been a full-season primary partner of the No. 71 Chevrolet Silverado.
Caruth’s one-off at Kansas Speedway is the latest addition in a continuously growing NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign for Hendrick Motorsports this season, which has also included starts for Corey Day, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, William Byron, Kyle Larson, and Jake Finch.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule for Hendrick Motorsports has increased to 22 of 33 events this season, with five of the six remaining events still on the docket between Caruth (Kansas) and Corey Day (Charlotte ROVAL, Las Vegas, Martinsville, and Phoenix).
“Kansas is a track I’ve loved since the first time I was there in ARCA,” Caruth added. “I’ve had pace there in ARCA and probably should’ve won a race or two, and same with the Truck Series. But that’s a place you have to be versatile with how many different lanes you can run and utilize the seams and pay attention to how the rubber lays down. The creativity you can have will show at a track like that. So, I’m excited for what it will be like… I’m excited to plan and prepare like any other race.”
The Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway will take place on Saturday, September 27, at 4:00 PM ET on The CW, Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
