UPDATE September 13, 2020 1:05 PM ET:

When asked for clarification of what specifically led to his suspension, Mike Wallace told TobyChristie.com, “Speak to NASCAR, I’m confused.”

Wallace went on to say, “I can assure you there were no racist comments or racial slurs, no cuss word [and] no negative comment towards individual people.”

When presses again for what specific post led to his suspension and whether it was still active on his Facebook page or had been deleted, Wallace responded with, “Consult with NASCAR.”

Original Story: September 10, 2020 5:44PM ET:

NASCAR driver Mike Wallace has been indefinitely suspended by the sanctioning body on Thursday following a behavioral violation.

According to the penalty report, Wallace had violated Sections 12.1, 12.8 and 12.8.1.e of the NASCAR Rule Book.

Section 12.8.1.e states as follows :

“Member actions that could result in a fine and/or indefinite suspension, or termination:

“Public statement and/or communication that criticizes, ridicules, or otherwise disparages another person based upon that person’s race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, or handicapping condition.”

A trio of images currently circulating social media show Wallace sharing images to his personal Facebook page relating to race. TobyChristie.com cannot verify if these are the photos that led to Wallace’s suspension, however we can verify that the photos are real as they are still present on his page as of Thursday night.

Wallace remains suspended until he completes sensitivity training as directed by NASCAR.

The 61-year-old Missouri native made his return to XFINITY Series competition this year, driving for JD Motorsports in three events, where he scored his best finish of 24th at Indianapolis and Road America.

  1. I agree with Mike Wallace 100%. But there’s no such thing as freedom of speech. Only if you agree with the liberal pieces of crap and their narrative!

  2. Nascar use to be a sport i looked up to not for there good old boy mentality, but what they stood for. Could care less for them now. They just another corporate giant following what the wrong is now right and the right is now wrong.
