Kyle Busch is one win away from 100-career NASCAR Xfinity Series victories after he held off Justin Allgaier on a green-white-checkered overtime finish in Saturday’s Alsco Uniforms 250 at Texas Motor Speedway.

This marks Busch’s second victory of the 2021 NXS season and it is his 10th-career Xfinity Series win at Texas Motor Speedway.

While Busch led a race-high 94 laps, it was anything but a sure deal that he would reach victory lane as Allgaier came on strong in the late portions of the race.

“All in all, such a good car. I wouldn’t say it was a great car, because Allgaier was just as good as us, if not better. I was just able to think through a few things there on a couple of restarts that may or may not work. There at the end, it really did,” Busch explained.

While Allgaier was disappointed in not scoring the win, he was very pleased with the speed of his No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro on Saturday.

“The car was great all day, obviously,” Allgaier said. “Fun to race.”

Behind Busch and Allgaier was Austin Cindric in third. It was Cindric who provided the needed advantage in the form of a push to Busch on the final restart.

Daniel Hemric finished fourth, which marks his sixth top-five finish of the 2021 season. Hemric’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Brandon Jones finished fifth.

AJ Allmendinger, Noah Gragson, Brett Moffitt, Justin Haley and Michael Annett rounded out the top-10 finishers.

Josh Berry finished in 19th, and while he has been one of the favorite stories of the year for fans, he didn’t make many friends on Saturday.

Berry got into Jeb Burton on lap 61, which sent Burton into the backstretch wall.

With 11 laps left in the race, Berry had a similar incident with Myatt Snider, which ended Snider’s day.
