JR Motorsports Finalizes 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series Crew Chief Lineup

On Monday morning, JR Motorsports officially finalized its NASCAR Xfinity Series crew chief lineup for the 2024 season. The roster revealed two new names for the upcoming season.Adam Wall, who worked his way up through the Hendrick Motorsports – JR Motorsports pipeline, will return to JR Motorsports this season as the crew chief for the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro team and driver Sammy Smith.

Wall has plenty of reason to feel excited for the upcoming season.

“It’s a lot of the same people here at JR Motorsports, so I’m excited to hit the ground running,” Wall said. “It’s a really efficient process that they have going with HMS and JRM in terms of personnel, and I’m an example of how it works. To be able to come back to JRM on the crew chief level is a really nice path.”

Wall, 34, served as lead engineer for Kyle Larson’s No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports team during their championship season in 2021, and had a previous stint as the lead engineer at JR Motorsports.

Phillip Bell will be the other new face atop the pit box for JR Motorsports in 2024 as he’ll serve as the crew chief for the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro team and driver Brandon Jones.

Bell, 33, was the lead engineer for JR Motorsports’ No. 9 team during the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. That year, the No. 9 team scored a team record eight wins, and finished second in the Championship 4 with Noah Gragson behind the wheel.

“I’m very appreciative of the opportunity,” said Bell. “I couldn’t have asked for a better place to be, because I know the systems and the people. It feels like coming home. The 9 team means a lot to me. We spent a lot of time and effort and helping build that legacy, getting the right systems in place to win races, and it means a lot to me to be here with them.”

In addition to Wall and Bell, Mardy Lindley will reprise his role as the crew chief for Sam Mayer and the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro team and Jim Pohlman will continue as the crew chief for Justin Allgaier and the No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro team.

Both the No. 1 and No. 7 teams reached the Championship 4 in 2023 under the guidance of Lindley and Pohlman.
