Even though Stewart-Haas Racing shuttered its operations at the end of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign, and paved the way for the formation of Haas Factory Team, there isn’t much change within the organization’s program in 2025.

Aside from the hiring of two completely new full-time Xfinity Series drivers, with Sheldon Creed driving the No. 00 and Sam Mayer piloting the newly-renumbered No. 41 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, a lot of things are staying the same.

Joe Custer, Team President of Haas Factory Team, joined SiriusXM NASCAR Radio to discuss the minimal changes over the off-season for the organization, which will debut with its new identity at Daytona International Speedway in February.

“We returned every single employee, I think except for two if I’m not mistaken, maybe a couple of truck drivers, as well, so perhaps four,” said Custer.

“We’re excited,” he added. “Jason Trinchere has come on board to crew chief Sam Mayer, so we’ve got Jonathan Toney with Sheldon Creed and Jason [Trinchere] with Sam [Mayer], so crew chiefs are set, and we’ve elevated Adam Gravett to Director of Competition for Xfinity.”

Trinchere joins Haas Factory Team after spending a season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series working with Spire Motorsports, serving as the shot-caller for Chase Purdy and the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado.

In addition to his experience in the Truck Series, Trinchere has also worked in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, spending four seasons working with Kaulig Racing and collaborating with a number of different drivers, including AJ Allmendinger, Landon Cassill, and Daniel Hemric.

The season-opener at Daytona will mark the 100th start for Trinchere as a crew chief in the second-tier series, in which time he’s collected five victories (all with AJ Allmendinger), 27 top-five and 51 top-10 finishes.

Trinchere will be working alongside championship-winning crew chief Jonathan Toney in 2025, who has spent the last two seasons at Stewart-Haas Racing serving as crew chief for Cole Custer and the No. 00 Ford Mustang Dark Horse.

Adam Gravatt, who will work as Director of Competition for the Xfinity Series program beginning in 2025, served as the Engineering Manager for Stewart-Haas Racing’s Xfinity Series program, starting in June 2023.

In addition to personnel confirmations, Custer also confirmed that the organization would continue to have technical alliances with both RSS Racing and AM Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025.

“We finished half the deal in Phoenix with winning the race, and the championship slipped through our fingers, which was disappointing, but we were there, we led a lot of laps, we had a lot of speed,” Custer said. “So, we’re optimistic about next year at Phoenix and putting our two drivers into that final race.”
