UPDATE: Bayley Currey has confirmed to TobyChristie.com that he will return to his full-time status Mike Harmon Racing’s No. 74 at Road America

Jesse Iwuji will make his return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in Sunday’s Pocono Green 225 at Pocono Raceway, piloting the No. 74 eRacing Association | Gap Em Chevrolet Camaro for Mike Harmon Racing.

The 33-year-old will make his fifth start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, taking the entry over for Bayley Currey, who will now turn his focus to Saturday Afternoon’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event, where he will pilot the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado for Niece Motorsports.

While Iwuji will be making his first NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Pocono Raceway, the Carrollton, Texas-native has one prior start at the facility in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, where he finished on the lead lap in 28th for Reaume Brothers Racing.

“We found a little bit of sponsor money early this weekend to help make it happen,” Iwuji told TobyChristie.com. “Honestly, just planning on logging laps and getting seat time. It’s my first time running Xfinity at that particular track. Last year I ran trucks there and finished lead lap which was nice.”

According to Iwuji, the partnership between himself and Mike Harmon Racing is currently slated for a one-race deal.
