With Jordan Anderson Racing fielding three cars for this weekend’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Daytona International Speedway, the race team has done some shuffling around to ensure that all three cars make the show in the event of rain during qualifying.

Jeb Burton, who won a race earlier this season at Talladega Superspeedway, will move over to the team’s new No. 22 car. Burton is locked into the show by way of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Past Winner’s Provisional, which is available to be used by winners from the 2022 and 2023 seasons in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

While Burton moves to the No. 22, he’ll also take the chance to pay a special tribute to his father Ward Burton, who drove the No. 22 entry for Bill Davis Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series for years. Jeb Burton will run the famed No. 22 Caterpillar paint scheme that his father won the 2002 Daytona 500 with.

Burton will carry sponsorship from Puryear Tank Lines, and State Water Heaters for the effort.

While Burton is locked into the show with the Past Winner’s Provisional, Jordan Anderson will make his return to race in the team’s No. 27 entry with sponsorship from Capital City Towing.

As previously announced, Anderson will have his father-in-law and legendary crew chief Larry McReynolds atop the pit box. McReynolds last served as a crew chief for Richard Childress Racing and driver Jeffrey Earhardt in the NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Talladega Superspeedway last season. That effort resulted in a pole position and a runner-up finish in the race.

Parker Retzlaff will continue to pilot the No. 31 entry for the organization with primary sponsorship from FunkAway. The No. 27 and No. 31 cars are locked into the show in the event of a qualifying rain out by way of owner points.
