As we approach the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs, two full-time teams within the JD Motorsports organization have performed an owner points swap.

NASCAR has confirmed to TobyChristie.com, that the JD Motorsports w/ Gary Keller No. 4 – piloted by Landon Cassill — and the No. 6 – predominately piloted by Ryan Vargas — will officially swap Owner Point totals heading into Saturday’s Go Bowling 250 at Richmond Raceway.

Heading into the owner point swap, Cassill had worked the No. 4 team into the 22nd spot in the owner standings, while the No. 6 team is clinging to the 30th-position.

The No. 6 team had a slim two point advantage over the Jordan Anderson Racing No. 31 team for the 30th spot after this past weekend’s race at Darlington Raceway.

For those curious, in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, the top-30 teams in the owner point standings at the end of the year, get a monetary bonus for performance. This owner point swap looks to be an effort for JD Motorsports to keep two cars inside the top-30 bonus.

Cassill, an Iowa-native, has scored three top-20 finishes over his last five starts for JD Motorsports in the No. 4 car, while Vargas has finished 21st or worse in his last four NXS starts in the No. 6 car.
