Riley Herbst lit up his rear tires and put on an emphatic smoke show for his hometown crowd at Las Vegas Motor Speedway following the Alsco Uniforms 302. The 24-year-old driver had finally broken through for his first-career NASCAR Xfinity Series race win in what was his 139th start.

Herbst scored the win in dominating fashion as he won Stage 2, led a race-high 103 laps, and then cruised to the checkered flag by just shy of 15 seconds over John Hunter Nemechek. It was a career day for Herbst.

The driver’s No. 98 Monster Energy Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Mustang was subjected to post-race inspection following the stunning victory, and the car passed with no issues. As a result, NASCAR named Herbst and his team the official winners of the race.

Herbst, who was carrying the ultimate disappointment of missing out on the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs a few weeks ago, now gets to experience the ultimate elation of scoring the win.

There were no issues throughout the field in post-race inspection, and as a result, all results and standings following the race are now considered official.
