CHK Racing, which fields the No. 74 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, has decided to withdraw its entry from Saturday’s Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway.

The team was on the preliminary entry list for the race weekend, but never announced a driver for the effort.

According to a statement from CHK Racing on Friday afternoon, the organization opted to forgo the race at Kansas Speedway due to, “lack of sponsorship and tire funding.”

The team states that it had some sponsorship in place in the form of Exit 92 BBQ, and will move that partnership to a race in the future as a result of the withdrawal from the race weekend.

It has been a trying 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign for CHK Racing, which sits 50th in the NASCAR Xfinity Series owner standings after 25 races. The team has attempted to qualify for 17 events, and has made it into the field for four times this year.

The best finish of the year for the team, so far, was a 28th-place finish with Dawson Cram behind the wheel at Michigan International Speedway last month.
