A familiar partner to the Richard Petty Motorsports family has opted to not continue its relationship for the 2021 season.

According to the company’s official Twitter account, World Wide Technology is no longer sponsoring Richard Petty Motorsports after a three-year relationship with the team.

There is no word if WWT will move to another team.

This is rather significant for Richard Petty Motorsports from a sponsorship standpoint. The organization hasn’t had the best of luck with sponsorship in recent years since Smithfield left for Stewart Haas Racing.

In 2020, WWT accounted for nine races as a primary sponsor, roughly a fourth of the season. In 2019, WWT helped put Victory Junction Camp on the hood of the No. 43 Camaro for a nice majority of the season.

The exact date of the termination is unknown, however photos from the NASCAR on FOX photo shoot prior to the beginning of the season show WWT on the Richard Petty Motorsports firesuit. As of this publishing, WWT remains on the “Sponsors” page for RPM via their website.

Additionally, WWT was an associate sponsor of Erik Jones’ BUSCH Clash car as well as the Daytona 500 car with Armor All. The O’Reilly Auto Parts 253 at the Daytona road course marked the first race without WWT on the car.

The relationship began in 2018 with a six-race primary sponsorship deal before growing in 2019 and 2020 with Wallace.

WWT also is the namesake of Gateway Speedway, where the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visits every year.
