Spire Motorsports will use one of the most-watched events of the NASCAR season to do their part in pushing for fans to get vaccinated in the defense against the COVID-19 virus.

Walmart, one of the largest retail corporations in the United States, will put their colors on the No. 77 of Justin Haley for Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600.

“Walmart is so excited for this opportunity to partner with Spire Motorsports and Justin Haley for this vaccine event, said Nick Infante, vice president of state and local government relations at Walmart. “Our mobile wellness vehicles allow us to be out in the community and help provide vaccines to as many eligible community members as possible. We want to help the country re-open and can only achieve that through widespread COVID-19 vaccination. This event helps us get one step closer to our goal.”

The promotion is a three-way collaboration between Walmart, Spire Motorsports, and Stringer Performance, a marketing and management company specializing in the operations of drag racing entities.

Six-time NHRA Champion Clayt Millican has been working with Stringer in recent weeks to promote vaccination awareness.

No matter what angle you look at the Camaro, there’s information on how fans can register for a vaccine. Walmart will put the registration website on the hood, sides, decklid, and rear bumper.

The rear quarter panels for the No. 77 will feature QR codes that fans can scan to schedule their COVID-19 vaccination appointments at their Walmart locations.

For those attending NASCAR’s most patriotic weekend, Walmart licensed pharmacists will be on-site for the entire weekend to administer Pfizer vaccinations to race fans.

Both Haley and Millican will appear for an autograph session on Sunday starting at 3 p.m. in the Fan Zone.

NASCAR is working with the White House COVID-19 Response Team to promote vaccinations, giving away tickets to the 2022 Daytona 500 for fans pledging or receiving the vaccine. The effort is a part of a larger push for other major sports including the NFL and MLS to incentivize fans to get the vaccine for a chance at prizes and experiences.

The sport is beginning to feel some sense of normalcy pre-pandemic, with Atlanta Motor Speedway allowing infield camping for the July race. Additionally, NASCAR is no longer requiring infield guests of teams and sponsors to present proof of vaccination as states have individual procedures for verification.

Fans can see the No. 77 Walmart Camaro hit the track on Sunday, May 30th at 6:00 PM EST on FOX and the FOX Sports app.
