History has a crazy way of repeating itself, and Friday Night at Kansas Speedway was no exception, when Russ Lane’s No. 8 broke loose off of turn two, sliding hard into the inside wall, almost a mirror image of Ryan Preece’s accident in the NASCAR Cup Series Race on Thursday Night.

Lane – who made his first of two ARCA Menards Series starts at Pocono earlier this season — would be left with a mangled Toyota Camry and would be forced to retire from the race, just twelve laps into the 100-lap event.

Lane was able to exit under his own power, but would be required to take a trip to the infield care center.
