You hate to see this for road racing ace Joey Hand and Rick Ware Racing. Hand had turned the seventh-fastest lap in Group A of NASCAR Cup Series practice at Circuit of the Americas on Saturday, and then the right front tire shredded on his No. 15 machine.

As Hand attempted to get the car back around the 3.410-mile road course, the right front fender and body components were sheered off the car.
