Tyler Reddick usually excels at tracks where driver talent is king. Darlington Raceway – a treacherous 1.366-mile oval — is one of those type tracks, for sure. And wouldn’t you know it, Reddick led the majority of the opening Stage to take the Stage win.
Reddick led 30 of the 45 laps in Stage 1.
Following Reddick across the line to the Stage break was pole sitter Ryan Blaney. Christopher Bell, who has six race wins this season was third. Chase Briscoe finished fourth and Justin Allgaier nursed a very loose car to finish the Stage in fifth.
Cole Custer — driving a Buckshot Jones throwback scheme — came home sixth in the Stage.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is driving despite being in a plane crash just a few weeks ago, moved from 14th starting spot to seventh at the end of Stage 1.
Brandon Jones, Justin Haley and Landon Cassill rounded out the top-10 in Stage 1.
