Ty Majeski Storms to Pole Position at Daytona, Toyota Sweeps Top-Six Positions

Ty Majeski and ThorSport Racing aren’t here to play, something made apparent by the insanely quick lap time the No. 66 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro posting in the second round of Friday’s single-truck qualifying session.

The Wisconsin-native, who will embark on his first full-season with ThorSport Racing, posted a lap time of 50.245 seconds (179.122mph) to claim his first career pole in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

John Hunter Nemechek was second, with Chandler Smith, Tyler Ankrum, Stewart Friesen, and Corey Heim rounding out a Toyota sweep of the top-six positions. Grant Enfinger, Riley Herbst, Jesse Little, and Lawless Alan rounded out the top-10.

Johnny Sauter – driving for Tim Viens’ G2G Racing — will hold the 36th and final starting position in Friday’s event, after using his Past Champions Provisional.

Clay Greenfield, Jordan Anderson, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Chase Purdy, Matt Jaskol, and Jason Kitzmiller all failed to qualify for the 100-lap season-opener at Daytona,
