It’s probably time to crown Ty Gibbs the ‘King of Qualifying’ in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Thursday at Martinsville Speedway, the 19-year-old captured his third consecutive pole position in NASCAR’s second-tier series, and the fourth of his young career, through just 25 starts.

As the final driver to post a time in qualifying, Gibbs’ 19.728-second (95.985mph) lap time was enough to knock Justin Allgaier (19.829s) from the provisional pole, by just over one-tenth of a second.

Noah Gragson, Ryan Truex, and Sheldon Creed will round out the top-five starts when the green flag drops on Friday night. Brett Moffitt, Landon Cassill, Ryan Sieg, Daniel Hemric, and Josh Berry rounded out the top-10.

Dale Earnhardt Jr, making his one-off appearance in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season, qualified 30th, making the field for the event by less than a half-tenth.

Chad Finchum, Ryan Ellis, Harrison Rhodes, Ronnie Bassett Jr, and Josh Williams were the five drivers who failed to qualify for the event.
