NASCAR driver Jesse Iwuji will make his fourth and final start of 2020 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this weekend, and he will do so with a brand new sponsor to the sport of NASCAR.
TrueCar, a platform designed to enhance the car buying experience, will serve as the primary sponsor for Iwuji this weekend for the Desert Diamond Casino West Vally 200 at Phoenix Raceway.
Specifically, the company will promote its TrueCar Military service – which provides special incentives for active servicemen and women, veterans, and their immediate families. The partnership holds a special meaning to Iwuji, as he is a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy – the only current driver to hold such a title.
How do you like our beautiful @truecar Chevrolet? With this weekend being the beginning of the celebration of our nations Veterans why not kick it off with a nice Camo touch to the paint scheme and team up with TrueCar Military! https://t.co/yoJT8xJUBv pic.twitter.com/lx4QoL6udT

“With this weekend being the beginning of the celebration of our nations Veterans why not kick it off with a nice Camo touch to the paint scheme and team up with TrueCar Military,” Iwuji said in an instagram post. “TrueCar is providing for our nations hero’s with their TrueCar Military program.”
TrueCar signed Iwuji as a Brand Ambassador for the company earlier this season, and has performed multiple social media videos and posts for the company.

Shawn Magee is the designer responsible for the car this weekend. Magee has previous work utilizing military assets such as camoflauge, which as was used in this design.
“The design of the 99 combines a military look & feel with the subtle digital camo in the background and a highly contrasting orange to grab attention on track,” Magee said. “The result is a ruggedly bold design. It’s a departure from the typical Stars & Stripes layout that military inspired paint schemes often include.”
Iwuji has had a busy season this year in NASCAR – competing in what will become eight races this year across the NASCAR Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series, as well as the Xfinity Series. In addition, he has joined the NBC Sports broadcast team as a pit reporter, giving insight to the races from a driver perspective, as well as tying in his time in the military for a unique angle of comparison between the sport and the Navy.
You can see the TrueCar Military Camaro hit the track in Phoenix this weekend, on Saturday November 7th at 5:00pm EST on NBCSN, and the NBC Sports App.
