Zane Smith spun late in Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Hailie Deegan had nowhere to go and was collected in the crash.

Zane Smith, the defending champion in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, has been one of the best drivers in the series for the last few years. But on Friday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway, even Smith ran into problems.

On Lap 90, Smith lost control of his No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford F-150 coming off of Turn 4, and as he was spinning down the track, he collided with the right side of Hailie Deegan’s No. 13 truck. Deegan had absolutely nowhere to go in the crash.

Here is a video of the incident:

While Deegan suffered substantial damage to the right side, Smith’s left front corner of his front end was also crushed. Both drivers remained in the race after repairs by their pit crews.
