Video: Dean Thompson’s Martinsville Race Ends Prematurely After Big Hit in Turn One

Dean Thompson’s Friday night at Martinsville Speedway had an early end after a big hit in stage three. The 22 year-old was racing with Grant Enfinger and Ben Rhodes when a bump from Rhodes to Enfinger sent the No. 9 Chevrolet up into Thompson’s No. 5 Toyota Tundra.

The contact shredded the left front tire of Thompson’s truck, sending it straight on into the outside wall.

Thompson stayed in the truck momentarily before climbing out under his own power, leaving him as the second DNF of the race.
