Todd Gilliland Raced to Eighth Place Finish at Homestead With Fox Carcass Wedged in Truck

Okay, so here is an odd tidbit from Friday’s NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series season-finale race:

At one point late in the Ford EcoBoost 200 event, Todd Gilliland hit a piece of debris with his No. 4 Toyota Tundra, which caused the temperatures to climb for the remainder of the race on his machine.

At the time, the team had no idea what the debris was, as nothing was visible on the grille, according to a tweet from spotter Kevin Hamlin.

So, turns out that “debris” was actually a fox. Yep, a wild fox.

Gilliland confirmed the news on Twitter as well and he even shared gruesome photos of the aftermath (look away if youre squeamish):
