Three Injured in Shop Fire at Reaume Brothers Racing, Team Beginning to Assess Damages

Three team members were injured in a fire at the Reaume Brothers Racing shop in Mooresville, North Carolina on Thursday. The team is assessing the damage.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team Reaume Brothers Racing has released an official statement, via social media, detailing a fire that broke out at the organization’s Mooresville, North Carolina shop on Thursday afternoon.

According to the organization, a couple of team members sustained injuries during the fire, and are currently being transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The organization’s statement reads as follows: “Earlier this afternoon, there was a fire at the RBR shop. An investigation into the cause is ongoing. We are in the process of determining the extent of the damages. More importantly, a few of our team members did sustain injuries during the fire and are being transported for medical treatment. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”

A Facebook post from Mooresville Fire-Rescue details the following: “At approximately 11:30 am on Thursday, January 26, 2023, Mooresville Fire-Rescue was dispatched to 110 Fernwood Lane, Mooresville, NC to a reported commercial structure fire. Mooresville Fire-Rescue Ladder 5 was first to arrive on scene to confirm an active fire inside the building. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly. However, the building sustained significant fire damage.”

According to Mooresville Fire-Rescue, three patients were treated for injuries. One patient was transported to Lake Norman Regional for smoke inhalation, the second patient was transported to Baptist Hospital for burn injuries, and the third patient was treated and released.

As mentioned in the team’s original statement, an investigation into the cause of the fire is currently ongoing, as the organization begins to assess the extent of the damages caused by the fire.

Reaume Brothers Racing was scheduled to field two full-time entries in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2023, with Mason Massey piloting the organization’s No. 33, and multiple drivers taking turns behind the wheel of the No. 34.

As of the time of publishing, the status of the team’s two entries for the season-opener at Daytona is currently unknown. On Tuesday, Reaume Brothers Racing announced a brand-new partnership with Ford Performance for the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season.
