According to a report near the end of FS1’s race broadcast of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series LiUNA! 150 at Lime Rock Park, Thomas Annunziata has been transported to a local hospital near the Connecticut short track following a scary moment in the late portion of the event.
Annunziata won Friday afternoon’s ARCA Menards Series event at Lime Rock Park, and despite suffering big damage in a restart stack up late in Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series LiUNA! 150, it looked like he’d have a shot to contend for the win again.

However, while running in the second position with 21 laps remaining in Saturday’s race, Annunziata’s No. 1 TRICON Garage Toyota Tundra burst into flames.
Annunziata, a 21-year-old racer affectionately known as “Hollywood”, would climb from his truck, and after removing his safety gloves, would slump down and seemed to have difficulty catching his breath.
As per the standard at-track procedure, Annunziata made a trip to the infield care center, where the decision was ultimately made to transport Annunziata to a local hospital for further evaluation of his condition following the fiery on-track situation.
There have been no additional updates on Annunziata’s condition. As additional updates become available from TRICON Garage, NASCAR, or Annunziata, they will be included in updates to this story.
