Niece Motorsports will have a new ownership group heading into Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series eero 250 at Richmond Raceway. In a press conference in the Richmond Raceway media center, Niece Motorsports introduced Josh Morris, the CEO of DQS Solutions & Staffing, and Greg Fowler, the CEO of J.F. Electric and family, as the new majority ownership group of the organization.
The investment in Niece Motorsports from two of its longtime core primary sponsors showcases the belief that the companies have in the race team’s future.
“Our investment in Niece Motorsports is about growth,” said Josh Morris, CEO of DQS Solutions & Staffing. “We believe in this team, its people, and its future. From pit crews to hospitality to content creation, we’re building a racing organization that delivers both on the track and in the boardroom.”
At the end of the day, the sponsors turned NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team owners made the move they did for one reason: they love racing.
“Racing is in our DNA,” added Greg Fowler, CEO of J.F. Electric. “We’ve proudly supported Niece Motorsports as a sponsor, and we’re ready to help fuel this next chapter as owners. The foundation is strong, and the possibilities ahead are even stronger.”
The team, which was founded by Al Niece, will remain operating under the Niece Motorsports name into the future.
“This partnership is a continuation of the momentum we’ve built over the last several seasons,” said Al Niece, founder of Niece Motorsports. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished. This change allows me to return to the heart of why I got into racing – the passion and excitement of competition – while entrusting the business to partners who believe in our team and our people.”
Along with the announcement of the new ownership group of Niece Motorsports, the race team also revealed a slew of in-house promotions within the race team.
Cody Efaw has been named the President and CEO of Niece Motorsports, while Amanda Efaw will take over the role of Chief Marketing Officer. Phil Gould, the team’s longest-tenured and winningest crew chief, will serve as the Director of Competition and will oversee each sector of the competition side of the team.
“This isn’t about changing who we are; It’s about expanding on what we’ve built,” said Cody Efaw, new President & CEO. “We’ve got a team-first culture and a passion to win. With Josh and the Fowlers’ support, we’re doubling down on our strengths.”
