NASCAR has issued its weekly post-race penalty report, and the lone penalty contained within the report this week is a one-race suspension of Marshall Hill, the car chief of the No. 99 ThorSport Racing Ford F-150 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Hill was handed a suspension, which will keep him from traveling with his team this week at Richmond Raceway, due to an issue with the rear axle of the No. 99 Ford last weekend in the Mission 147 at The Glen at Watkins Glen International, which led to Ben Rhodes crashing out of the race.

According to the penalty report, Hill was officially found to be in violation of sections 10.5.2.5.G of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rule book, which pertains to the loss or separation of an improperly installed rear axle from the vehicle during the event.

Heading into Friday’s eero 250 at Richmond Raceway, the final race of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular-season, Rhodes sits 10th in the NASCAR Truck Series championship standings, but finds himself 11 points outside of the Playoff Cutline.

Rhodes, who will be without his usual Car Chief on Friday, has to find a way to top Jake Garcia, his ThorSport Racing teammate, who currently holds the final slot in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoff Grid.
