Jack Wood will not compete in Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series eero 250 at Richmond Raceway, according to a statement from McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, which was shared to social media on Thursday afternoon. According to the team, Wood is sitting out of the race as a precautionary measure following an injury sustained in a crash at Watkins Glen International a week ago.

The team did not disclose the specific injury that Wood is dealing with, but the organization did announce that it has withdrawn its No. 91 Chevrolet Silverado from the entry list of this week’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event.

“Jack Wood will not compete in Friday’s race at Richmond Raceway for precautionary measures due to an injury he sustained at Watkins Glen International,” the team said. “The No. 91 entry has been withdrawn from the event. An update on Wood’s status will be announced at a later date.”

The crash in which Wood was injured occurred on Lap 37 of last week’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Mission 147 at The Glen. Here is a video of the incident, which has led to Wood sitting out Friday’s race at Richmond Raceway:

The withdrawal of the No. 91 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing team comes on the heels of Norm Benning and the No. 6 Norm Benning Racing team also withdrawing from the event. As a result, there are now 35 trucks entered in Friday night’s eero 250 at Richmond Raceway.

With up to 36 trucks being permitted to start races in the NASCAR Truck Series, no drivers or teams will head home after qualifying this week.
