UPDATE: Stewart Friesen, originally credited with a third-place finish, has been disqualified for failing post-race heights in the front. The No. 52 will now be credited with a 35th-place finish.
Layne Riggs, Corey Day, Corey Heim, Grant Enfinger, and Ty Majeski make up the new top-five finishers for Friday’s TSPORT 200 at IRP.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series journey for Layne Riggs began here, at Indianapolis Raceway Park, three years ago for Layne Riggs. Now, the native of Bahama, North Carolina, is a frequent visitor to Victory Lane in the series.
Riggs parked his No. 34 CLEW Nicotine Pouches Ford F-150 in Victory Lane in Friday’s TSPORT 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park, after putting on a dominating performance around the 0.686-mile short track, leading 160 of 200 laps.
It’s the second victory of the season for Riggs, and the third straight win on a track measuring less than one mile in length for Front Row Motorsports, which won at North Wilkesboro and Bristol earlier this season with Chandler Smith.
“My team, this truck was badass,” said Riggs. “It was so great. I was just out front saving my tires at the end, and I was just waiting for a late-race caution, trying to run the bottom, run the least amount of distance to keep the distance off my tires.”
Riggs initially lost the race lead at the end of the second stage, as drivers who made the choice to take their tires at a Lap 100 caution for Josh Reaume, stayed on the racetrack, while the No. 34 Ford F-150 came onto pit road.
RACE RESULTS: 2025 NCTS TSPORT 200 at IRP
It took Riggs about 17 laps to drive from outside the top-five on the restart to the race lead, getting by Stewart Friesen with 55 laps to go, and never looking back, driving to the checkered flag with an advantage of nearly two seconds.
Corey Day had an impressive showing on Friday, collecting a career-best runner-up finish in the No. 7 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports. Stewart Friesen held on for third, despite being on significantly older tires than those around him.
Corey Heim had a human performance, finishing in fourth place. However, by leaving the event 143 points ahead of Chandler Smith in the point standings, the TRICON Garage driver clinches the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular-season championship.
Grant Enfinger, after pacing practice earlier on Friday, rounded out the top five in the race. Ty Majeski, the winner of the previous two events at Indianapolis Raceway Park, finished just behind him in sixth place.
Chandler Smith had a modest afternoon, finishing in seventh place. Daniel Hemric and Tyler Ankrum finished eighth and ninth, with Ross Chastain rounding out the top-10 after sustaining significant damage on pit road when losing the left-front tire.
With only two races until the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs, Grant Enfinger, Kaden Honeycutt, and Ty Majeski hold the final three spots based on points, with Jake Garcia sitting 61 points below the cutline.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will take another weekend off before returning to action at Watkins Glen International, where Corey Heim will look to secure a record-extending fourth straight road course win.
Coverage of the event will be Friday, August 8 at 5:00 pm ET on FS1, NASCAR Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
