Johnny Sauter will reunite with G2G Racing for the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway, as the 2016 Series champion is set to pilot the team’s No. 47 Toyota Tundra.

According to G2G’s team owner Tim Viens, Sauter will have sponsorship in the NextEra Energy 250 from Barker Construction for the event and he will have Tim Silva as his crew chief for the effort.

Sauter, 44, piloted the No. 47 entry for G2G Racing in the 2022 season-opener at Daytona International Speedway. After a frustrating night, mechanically, Sauter was credited with a 34th-place finish after an electrical issue ended his night after 60 laps.

After his one-race stint with G2G, Sauter ran four races with ThorSport Racing and an additional race with Young’s Motorsports to close out the 2022 campaign.

The No. 47 entry, according to Viens will be a full-time entry for the 2023 season, and Sauter will potentially be in the mix for future races with the team as the season progresses.

G2G Racing will also field the No. 46 entry for the opening four races of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, and the team will evaluate whether or not to run that truck for the full season as well after the fourth race of the year.

Viens states that he is preparing to pilot the No. 46 truck at Daytona with primary sponsor Boat Gadget, but that is subject to change.

The team owner tells TobyChristie.com that the organization has Brennan Poole and BJ McLeod lined up to drive its two trucks at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway, but that also is subject to change.

Memphis Villarreal, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, will run at least seven races for the organization starting with Circuit of the Americas and Viens says that ARCA Menards Series veteran Dale Quarterley will also run for the team at COTA.

Quarterley, 62, has never run a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in his career. Quarterley is a six-time winner in what is now known as the ARCA Menards Series East division (formerly the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East).

The Massachusetts native scored two top-10 finishes in three ARCA Menards Series starts during the 2022 season.

While the 2023 schedule and driver roster is shaping up well, Viens says more announcements will be coming in the near future for G2G Racing.
