With fear of his gas tank running dry, Corey Heim scored the race win in Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series XPEL 225 at Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Heim, who also won Stage 2, led a race-high 31 laps in the 46 lap race.

Following the race, Heim’s race-winning No. 11 Safelite TRICON Garage Toyota Tundra underwent post-race inspection, where it received a passing grade. As a result, NASCAR declared Heim and his team the official winners of the race.

This win marks the first victory of the 2024 NASCAR Truck Series season for Heim, a 2023 NASCAR Truck Series Championship 4 contender, and it is the sixth win of his career.

The No. 7 Spire Motorsports truck, driven by Connor Zilisch, had one unsecured lug nut in post-race inspection, which will result in a monetary fine for the crew chief.

No other issues were detected in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings are now considered official.

Taylor Gray, Heim’s TRICON Garage teammate, finished runner-up, and he was followed by Ty Majeski, Connor Zilisch, Ross Chastain, Jack Hawksworth, Ben Rhodes, Christian Eckes, Dean Thompson, and Tanner Gray.

Matt Crafton and Matt Mills were assessed 30 second penalties for cutting the course on the final lap of the race. NASCAR will also take the rear end housing from the No. 04 truck, driven by Marco Andretti, for further evaluation.
