After failing to qualify for last season’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at The Milwaukee Mile, Dexter Bean returns to the one-mile racetrack in West Allis, Wisconsin for another chance at competing in his home state.
Bean will partner with Young’s Motorsports to pilot the organization’s flagship No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado in Sunday’s LiUNA! 175. Sponsorship for the one-off effort will come from iiOTec Industrial Automation and Badger Environmental and Earthworks.
The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139 and Frontier Property Management, LLC. will also have their branding present on the Young’s Motorsports entry for the first race of the NASCAR Truck Series post-season.
“It’s not every day you get to race in God’s country,” said Bean, driver of the No. 02 Silverado. “We have many local partners supporting us this weekend, that will be in attendance here in our great state, and we’re hoping for a really strong debut for them with Young’s Motorsports.”
A native of Westby, Wisconsin, Bean has made three starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, including one at the one-mile Milwaukee Mile Speedway in 2009, where he finished 17th driving for DGM Racing owner Mario Gosselin.
Since 2015, the now 37-year-old racer has made sporadic appearances in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Mario Gosselin and DGM Racing, including a start earlier this season at Martinsville Speedway, where he finished 20th in the No. 92 Chevrolet Camaro.
The LiUNA! 175 at the Milwaukee Mile will take place on Sunday, August 25 at 4:00 PM ET.
